Are you considering use of a business incubator to jump-start your new business? New England has many incubators, each with its own focus, programs, services... and even personality.  How do you know which might be best for you and your business? How can you most successfully use the opportunities they provide?

To explore the answers, join us for a networking event like no other, in a newly expanded format: our annual "mini-expo" of incubators from around the region. This event is part of BREW 2013, the Boston Regional Entrepreneurship Weeks (http://www.brewboston.org/).

In response to requests from prior attendees and the incubators for more in-depth learning and discussion opportunities, we have augmented our customary evening session by adding an optional afternoon session.

At the evening session, representatives from over ten incubator organizations will share the benefits they offer you, the entrepreneur, the requirements for getting in, and how you can get the most out of being part of an incubator.   Pizza and soft drinks will be provided.

This evening session will include incubators such as:

  • TechStars
  • MassChallenge
  • North Shore Innoventures
  • LearnLaunchX
  • Merrimack Valley Sandbox
  • TechSandBox Inc.
  • Greentown Labs

Representatives from these incubators and many others will staff display tables and talk with you one-on-one.

Also on board will be a host of other creative programs that help startups get up and running. We'll have representatives from large, general programs and from specialty programs in biotech, clean-tech, and more together with other kick-start programs, including the Awesome Foundation (awesomefoundation.org).

The optional afternoon session offers entrepreneurs (A) an opportunity to learn how to navigate the fast-changing landscape of effective marketing, and (B) in-depth opportunities to hear from, and to dialogue with, selected incubators:

Series (A): Four mini-tutorials on the latest, cost-effective marketing methods:

1:00 pm    Marketing Strategy -- Navah Fuchs, Angel1 Ed and Amelia Vamos-Green, formerly of Jebbit (TechStars)
1:45 pm    Dynamic Branding -- Susan Bradstreet Englert, Sandpiper Design

---------- 2:30 pm   Break, with light refreshments ----------

3:00 pm    Affordable Social Media Channels you Never Heard of -- Trish Fontanilla, MassChallenge
3:45 pm    Sales Success in the Social Era -- Sarah Branfman, MongoDB, Inc, formerly known as 10gen

Series (B): Presentations by, and Q&A sessions with, representatives of selected incubators.
These approximately half-hour sessions will repeat during the afternoon. Schedule to be posted at the event.

Series (A) and series (B) are concurrent. Afternoon registrants have the flexibility to attend whichever mini-tutorials and/or presentations they choose.

Registration for the afternoon session entitles the attendee to one free admission to the evening session.
