This meeting is co-sponsored by the IEEE Consultants Network (CNET)

Panel:

Kuangshin Tai - Wolf Greenfield and Sacks, PC, www.wolfgreenfield.com

Kuangshin Tai assists the firm with patent prosecution in the areas of mechanical arts, clean energy and materials science. As a doctoral candidate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Kuangshin conducted nanomechanical research in bone to produce novel theories for bio-mineralized systems on nanoscale heterogeneity, energy dissipation, and cohesive-frictional behavior. He has served as a research intern for the Materials Processing Center at the Center for Materials Science and Engineering, working on the development of polymer gel sensors and actuators that harnessed optical phase and swelling transition properties in variants of N-isopropylacrylamide.

As a research student, Kuangshin had a broad exposure to engineering and the medical sciences, from developing a DNA vaccine for testing in animal models, to creating a photo-optical device with cross-correlating signals used for measuring speed from photosensors fixed onto a ski. Kuangshin has authored numerous scientific publications appearing in journals such as Nature Materials, Nano Letters, Journal of Biomechanics, and Tissue Engineering.
