The investor presentation is your primary vehicle for conveying an organized thought process to investors about your business, team, and pathway to success.  Entrepreneurs need well-conceived investor presentations and executive summaries to get the attention of investors, and build interest in their business.  Our panel consists of three successful investors (venture capitalists & angels) who have looked at tens of thousands of early stage companies.  They will provide advice on how to put an investor presentation together, tell you what works and doesn’t work in today’s investment climate, network with you, and answer your questions.

David Verrill is the Founder & Managing Director of Hub Angels(www.hubangels.com), one of the oldest Angel Groups in the Boston area, having invested over $20 million in various tech and life sciences sectors.  David was a research scientist in the life sciences area and spent a decade at MIT raising capital from industry and facilitating technology transfer.  He currently sits on the Boards of ContentRaven, Geezeo and PageScience, and is Chairman of Angel Capital Association. David has a master’s degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

 


Greg Dracon is a Partner of .406 Ventures (www.406Ventures.com), a VC firm investing in early stage enterprise technology companies.  They make initial investments of $1M - $4M and invest throughout the life of the company.  Greg has19 years of venture investing and technology operating and management experience and currently sits on the boards of six companies.  Prior to joining .406 Ventures in 2007, Greg was a VP of Core Capital Partners (an early stage VC firm) and held various operating and management positions within the semiconductor industry.  Greg received an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

 


William Swiggart is the Manager of Beacon Angels (www.beaconangels.com), an Angel Group that makes $50K-$300K investments in early-stage companies.  Swiggart is a Boston-based attorney who incorporates and grows start-ups, and facilitates transactions such as debt and equity investments, IP licenses, and mergers & acquisitions.  He has served as General Counsel to Bitstream Inc., and to ON Technology Corporation.  He graduated from the University of Connecticut Law School and Princeton University, and has thrice been named a MA super-lawyer.

Alan Silver, Chief Financial Officer (www.PartimeCFO.com) Alan Silver has been the part-time for over 60 technology start-ups over the last 18+ years.  At Andover.net he was the part-time CFO from when the company had fewer than 10 employees until just 5 months before the company went public.  He has an MSM degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management, is Treasurer of Boston Entrepreneurs’ Network, and has been a panelist at MIT Enterprise Forum Start-Up Clinics.
